The ideal rigging option for maximum casting distance and maximum action is on a ball head jig or swimbait jighead. Use a 7' medium action spinning rod, w/braid to floro leader, a 1/4 oz or heavier jig head. Cast it out, let the bait fall on semi slack line until it hits the bottom, than give the rod a quick twitch upwards, and begin a slow steady retrieve. Add in occasional rod twitches during the retrieve.

When used on a Wrecking Ball Head or our Ledge Knocker, cast out the bait, let it fall on semi-slack line until it hits the bottom, than begin a slow retrieve, making sure to contact rock and bottom structure. During the retrieve impart occasional rod twitches to entice followers to commit as this makes the bait look like it's trying to flee.

Use a 7' medium action spinning rod paired up on a 2500 series spinning reel, or a 7' medium heavy fast tip bait casting rod with a 7:1:1 gear ratio bait casting reel. For the line use 12lb braid to a 6 or 8 pound fluorocarbon leader.
