The 5" Phat Bat is our answer to the legendary soft stick bait that started it all—the bait that sparked the entire “Senko-style” revolution. Designed to compete with the very best, the Phat Bat is built to deliver the same proven performance serious bass anglers expect.
Each bait is heavily salt-impregnated using the same level of salt found in the original Senko stick bait, giving it the ideal balance of weight, castability, and natural fall rate that made this style of lure famous. Combined with the premium soft plastisol used in all of our worms, the Phat Bat achieves the perfect blend of density and suppleness.
The result is a bait that casts a mile and falls with that irresistible slow shimmy bass simply can’t ignore. As it sinks through the water column, the ends undulate with a subtle, natural wiggle that consistently triggers strikes from both numbers and quality fish.
In field testing, the 5" Phat Bat proved itself by producing both high catch rates and bigger bites, making it a dependable choice whether you're fun fishing or competing.
Because of its ideal weight and balance, the Phat Bat truly shines in weightless presentations, where its natural action can do the work—delivering that classic soft stick bait fall that bass have been crushing for decades.
If you're looking for a confidence bait that combines legendary performance with premium materials, the 5" Phat Bat is ready to put more bass in the boat.
Rigging
Rigging
The ideal rig we've found for these is fished wacky style with an o-ring or collar around the mid section. Use a 7' Medium light fast tip spinning rod on 12lb braid to an 8-10lb florocarbon leader. Use a size 2 or 3 Neko hook, thread the hook through the o-ring so the bait is perpendicular to the hook, cast the bait out, let it fall on semi slack line and it will undulate and wiggle on it's way down to the bottom. usually the bites come on the initial fall. If there isn't a bite, give your rod tip some upward pumps, and let the bait fall again on semi slack line, rinse and repeat.
Additional Rigging Options:
Texas
Carolina
Shakey Head
EWG Weightless
Dropshot
Wacky
Neko
Jig Trailer
Flipping/Pitching
Retrieve
Retrieve
When used on a wacky rig, cast or skip the bait towards the desired target, let it fall on semi slack line, being sure to watch the line for any movement. As the bait hits the bottom, pause a few seconds, than lift the rod tip up, raising the bait off the bottom, than lower the rod tip quickly, allowing the line to go slack. This will cause the the bait to ever slightly sink back to the bottom. Repeat this all the way back to the boat. Usually the bite occurs on the pause.
Rod/Reel/Line
Rod/Reel/Line
Use 7' Medium Spinning rod, paired up with a 1500 or 2500 series spinning reel, on 12lb braid to 6-8lb Fluorocarbon.
