With floating claws just like its little sibling, the Beasty Bug excels on a Jig, Neko Rig, Texas Rig, or Free Rig. No matter how you present it, those lifelike claws stay poised in a natural defensive stance – a visual trigger big bass can't resist.
Crafted from a medium-grade plastisol, this craw strikes the perfect balance between durability and action. It’s tough enough to handle hard skips under docks, thick vegetation, rocky bottoms, and brutal headshakes – yet soft enough to produce the seductive movement that drives bass wild.

The ideal rigs we’ve found for these are the Texas Rig, Free Rig, or Neko Rig. For a Texas Rig, use a 3/8 oz to 1/2 oz pegged bullet weight with a 4/0 EWG hook. For a Free Rig, use a 3/8 oz to 1/2 oz teardrop weight with a line tie ring, paired with a 4/0 EWG hook. Finally, for a Neko Rig, use a 3/16 oz (or heavier) screw-in Neko weight in the tail along with a 1/0 or 2/0 Neko hook.

The key with this "craw"-style bait is to mimic a crawfish’s behavior using any of the rigging methods shown above. On a Free Rig, cast out and let the bait fall on semi-slack line until it reaches the bottom. Then reel in the slack and slowly drag the bait along the bottom, pausing when you contact rock or structure. Strikes typically occur during the pause.

Due to its nearly 4" size, we recommend using a 7' medium-heavy action rod paired with a 7:2:1 baitcaster and at least 12 lb fluorocarbon line.
