Our 2.8" ribbed Phat Swimmers are known as the "Keitech Killer" due to being our most popular seller and our buyers claiming higher catch rates than using the popular Keitech swimbaits.

It's the perfect little morsel for weary bass, or if you're just looking to get bit. It's ribbed body puts off maximum water displacement triggering the bass's lateral lines and the the paddle tail gives it an awesome side-to-side wobble, bringing the bait to life.

We use a medium grade plastisol providing maximum action but enough durability to allow multiple fish catches per bait.

Rod/Reel/Line: Use a 7' medium action spinning rod, with a 2500 series spinning reel, with 12lb braid to a 6 or 8 pound fluorocarbon leader.

Rigging: The ideal rigging option for maximum casting distance and maximum action is drop swimming. Tie a 1/4 to 3/8oz drop shot sinker and a 12" leader up-to a drop shot hook. Nose hook the bait.

Additional Rigging Options:

Wobble Head

Flipping/Pitching

Tokyo Rig

Chatterbait Trailer

Swim Jig Trailer

Ball Head Jig Trailer

A-Rig Trailer

Underspin Trailer

Spinner-bait Trailer

Swimbait Jig Head

Texas Rig EWG Weedless

Weedless Swimbait Head

Retrieval: When drop swimming, cast and allow the bait to hit the bottom. Begin a slow steady retrieve with occasional rod twitches, this allows the bait to dance as the rod is twitched and when the weight clicks on rocks or brush below, the bait will erratically pop and move, triggering the reaction strike. Another option on this rig is the lift and fall technique. Instead of swimming the bait back, rip your rod tip up high and let it fall on slack line, the bite will usually come as the bait drops.

Durability: Medium, 3-5 fish/bait

Length: 2.8"

Bait Design: The body shape starts with a rounded nose, moves back into a ribbed body, and tapers off into the paddle tail.

Scent: Like all our baits they are heavily scented with our Phat Juice which is a Craw/Leech/Shad combination.

Salt: None

Floating: No

Phat Swimmer 2.8" is my go to.

Once I switched to a 7' M spinning rod I started getting bit. Here in So Cal reservoirs the largemouth are striking at the Phat Swimmer 2.8" yellow perch nose. I would love to see a Keitech Easy Shiner option. The largemouth are destroying the 2" to 5" in Copperfield color.

Outstanding company

I have been using the 2.8 Phat Swimmer for several months. They are a quality bait and I will be trying some of their other baits. I am very impressed with their customer service. I had a problem with a recent order, the problem was with the Postal Service, When I contacted Phat Pack baits they assured me that I would get my baits even if the had to replace the lost ones. It is great to find a company that takes care of their customers. I will continue to do business with them and recommend them to my friends.

Fish slayer's

Favorite colors would have to be sexy shad, and pumpkinseed gilly. Both perform really well in the urban ponds. And they do well at the lake. Buy in bulk because the paddle tail tends to rip off easy. But what a great price for tons of fun.

The perfect little swimbait

The 2.8 inch size is a perfect profile for matching the size of your common baitfish you see in ponds and lakes. I use use a little jig head or underspin head to beat the bank and I even drop shot with it when the fishing gets slow. I prefer the sexy Shad color and have caught quite a few bass on it, this little swimbait is a money maker for sure!
