Our Toadstool Ned Jig Heads are a competitor to the popular "Z-Man Shroomz" style ned heads but made with either a medium wire 90 Degree VMC 9147 Aberdeen or an Owner 5313 1x Extra Strong hook. Each "No Chip" head is powder coated and baked to ensure maximum durability when dragged or bounced along rock, or any kind of hard cover. We also avoid Powder coating the hook eye to prevent any unwanted rough edges from weakening the knot. Every Toadstool Head is hand painted and inspected to ensure the highest quality. Our Toadstool Ned Jig Heads pair perfectly with our 2.8" Lil' Bats, 2.8" Beasty Bug Jr's, and our 2.8" Phat Swimmers. When choosing the correct weight to pair with your soft plastic, always choose as light as possible for the conditions being fished. The ideal weight is our 1/16oz head. The VMC Black Nickle Plated hooks will give you the sticky sharp needle point precision we've all come to appreciate from VMC, and if you are going for big fish the Owner 5313 will allow you to pin and hold the fish, without bending out the hook.

Rigging

The ideal rigging is on 6-8lb fluorocarbon or mono filament using a Palomar Knot, paired up with a 1500 or 2500 series spinning reel, and a 6'6"-7' medium action fast tip spinning rod.

Retrieve

The ideal way to retrieve these is to cast out the Toadstool Ned Jig Head, let it fall on semi slack line until the bait and jighead hits the bottom, give the bait a 1-5 second pause, Than either drag the jighead slowly along the bottom with occasional pauses allowing it to stand up vertical, Reel and slowly swim the jighead so the bait looks like a swimming minnow, giving it occasional pauses and pops during the retrieve, or jerk the jighead off the bottom with one or two pops, and let it fall on slack line, resting again back on the bottom.

Great hooks, subpar paint jobs

This is my third order for jig heads. The second order and also this one had most heads with chipped paint near the eyes. Contacted them on the second order and was told that they will be fine. Not exactly the most reassuring response. Price is still good and poured on quality hooks. Just don’t expect consistent paint jobs. Also ordered the lil bats and they work great.

Thanks for the review. Regarding the 'chipped paint' near the hook eye, thats a side effect of how we cover the hook eye during powder coating, which butts up against the Toadstool Head, causing that miss in paint. We prioritized the direct line tie to the jig head eye instead of powder coating this for increased sensitivity over the small area missing paint where the hook eye meets the Toadstool Head. Functionally this doesn't effect anything with the Toadstool heads. The area missing paint is small enough it's not noticeable to the fish since the jighead is intended to be drug along the bottom.

Moving forward we will look into tightening the way we cover the jigheads to minimize the missed paint.
