Every Ledge Knocker Swimbait Jig Head is hand crafted, custom built, and individually inspected before it ever reaches the package. We build each head using either a medium-wire 90° VMC 9147 Aberdeen hook or a Mustad 32746 Extra Strong hook, with double wire keepers on 3/0 and larger hooks to keep your swimbait locked in place.
Each Ledge Knocker features ultra-realistic 3D eyes and a natural Shad or Bluegill-inspired paint scheme. Our durable “No Chip” powder-coated finish is baked onto the head to withstand repeated contact with rock, ledges, and other hard cover.
Every jig head is hand inspected for paint quality, hook sharpness, keeper alignment, and overall finish. The head design also allows your swimbait to sit tail-up on the bottom, creating a natural presentation whether you’re slow rolling, grinding structure, or dragging it along the bottom.
Ledge Knockers pair perfectly with our 2.8" and 3.8" Phat Swimmers. Choose the lightest weight and proper hook length for your conditions while allowing the swimbait to move freely side-to-side and keeping the Ledge Knocker in consistent contact with the bottom.

Simply thread the swimbait nose-first down the hook shank, passing over the wire keepers, and press it firmly against the back of the jighead. Attach the line to the jighead using a Palomar knot.
Retrieve

The ideal way to retrieve these is to line up to the offshore structure/ledge being fished and make as long of a cast as possible, allow the bait to fall on semi slack line (sometimes they hit on the fall, so watch your line). When your line goes flat and the Ledge Knocker is on the bottom give your rod tip a quick jerk up so the bait shoots up off the bottom and begin a slow steady retrieve, making sure to keep the Ledge Knocker on the bottom or contacting the structure for the duration of the retrieve. Additionally, because the Ledge Knocker sits flat on the bottom in the resting position, this allows for a drag style retrieve as well, mimicking a baitfish feeding on the bottom with it's tail up

Casting distance is key to fishing the Ledge Knocker, therefore on the lighter 1/4, 3/8 oz sizes go with spinning gear and use a 7'+ Medium Action Rod paired up with a 2500 series spinning reel. For the line fish 12lb braid to a 6 or 8 lb fluorocarbon leader. When casting our heavier Ledge Knockers in that 1/2 upto 1 1/2oz size go with Casting gear and use a 7' Medium Heavy, Fast tip rod, paired up wiht a 7:1 casting reel. For the line use straight 15 to 20lb fluorocarbon.

As with everything I’ve purchased from Phatpak the ledge knocker exceeded my expectations. The head slides effortlessly along the bottom and you can feel it deflecting off of rocks and logs. I’m more of a finesse guy and don’t usually go heavier than 3/8 oz so I can’t attest to the bigger heads but the 1/4 oz are great. I wish you had it in 1/8.
